CSR technology in bluetooth handsfree gives you hands free telephone communication, with comprehensive compatibility to a wide range of mobile devices. With a built in microphone and Phone book access, safely talk and drive at the same time.

Bluetooth stereo audio streaming also gives you the option of streaming music to the AX1 without the hassle of cables.

  • Infogo.com is an online music store that offers a catalogue of more than 25,000,000 fully licensed DRM-free songs and application downloads. It can sync up to connected devices such as smart phones, tablets & PCs.
  • The music files are downloadable in 320kbps MP3 format for higher fidelity playback on various devices - online and offline.
  • You can sync your purchases on up to 10 connected devices - smartphones, tablets and personal computers. Every purchase that you make is automatically stored in a personal cloud locker that is set up for you free-of-charge so that you can access your music anywhere, anytime, so long as you are connected to the Internet.

  • The AX1 comes with internal memory that is used for applications and map data. Media is stored on your external devices (smartphones or USB device) or a microSD card.

  • Navigation system and Infogo App Garage, where specially curated automotive-safe apps are housed and the latest firmware updates are stored, so that your AX1 is always fresh and up-to-date.
  • The navigation system that comes with the AX1 works offline as the navigation engine and maps are stored on a microSD card.
  • The AX1 uses micro SD or micro SDHC card. The size can be up to 32GB.
  • Go to Settings > Systems > Software Management. You can clear the user data by clicking ‘Factory Data Reset’ or restore factory firmware by clicking on ‘Restore’.
  • Yes. Pull down the status menu and eject your thumb drive or SD card, as it is always better to shut down access to the card prior to removal. By un-mounting the SD card, you will prevent corruption and damage to the SD card.
  • The AX1 comes with a built-in App Garage that houses specially curated apps that are automotive-safe.
  • Users can stream music to the AX1 via Bluetooth or DLNA via WiFi.

  • The AX1 supports MP4 videos up to 1080P however it only plays 720p videos out to an external HDMI monitor.

  • AX1 has automotive grade software and hardware with OEM standard reliability and robustness.

Should you choose to install applications from unknown sources, you would be doing so at your own risk and will void the warranty if any issues should arise due to this.

  • You can connect the AX1 to the Internet by tethering it to a smart phone that supports internet tethering. Alternatively the AX1 can connect to an access point (AP) from broadband dongle or MIFI (mobile WIFI) device.
  • Yes, we have received Apple ATS certification, which includes compliance with Apple's communication protocol and power requirements for charging.
  • We believe the market trend is heading towards mechaless car audio systems with playback via digital removable media (USB/SD/iPod) and the Internet (online storage). Also, mechaless systems are more reliable and robust due to lack of moving parts.
  • The fuse could be blown. Kindly replace the affected fuse with a fuse of the same amperage. If the fuse blows again, please consult your nearest service dealers.
  • This could also happen due to incorrect wiring. Please consult your nearest service dealers.
  • Restart the system by turning the car ignition off and on again.
  • If the problem persists, press the [VOL] knob for more than 6 seconds to trigger a reset operation. Alternatively, you can press the reset button with a thin paper clip. The system will reboot automatically.
  • Reboot the system.
  • If this crash persists after a system reboot, it is most likely that the contacts database has been corrupted.
  • In order to fix the problem, the contacts database needs to be cleared. Please carry out the following steps: Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Tab All > Contacts Storage > Select clear data.
  • The USB device/ SD card could be inserted in the wrong direction. Please try reversing the connection direction of the USB device/SD card and insert again.
  • Go to Home screen > press [MENU] button > select Notifications from the menu bar.
  • Alternatively, you can slide down from the top of the Home screen. Please make sure Unmount USB / Unmount SD is displayed. If not, press the corresponding Mount USB/SD button.
  • If the issue persists, try unplugging the USB device/SD card and inserting it again. The corresponding SD/USB preparing message will be displayed at the status bar.
  • If the device is still not recognized, it is possible that the USB device/ SD card could be damaged. Kindly try replacing the existing device with a different USB device/SD card.
  • Clarion AX1 does not support SDXC, which is normally used for 64GB capacity and above. Kindly refrain from using SDXC in this unit. In order to recover the data: Insert your SD card into a card reader, connect it to your PC, run Command Line (cmd) and type: chkdsk F: /f
  • where F: is the drive letter assigned to the SD card by Windows (changed as necessary).
  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth > Bluetooth Devices
  • Press and hold the desired paired device in the display list and select Unpair.
  • Please ensure that you have deleted any AX1 pairing information from your phone as well. (Kindly refer to your respective phone's manual for more information.)
  • After you have carried out steps 1 - 3, kindly try to pair your device to the Clarion AX1 once again.

This update is recommended for all users and addresses several issues related to stability and overall improvement in performance of the head unit.

This update improves:

  • Audio performance of the head unit
  • Stability in Bluetooth pairing, device display & handsfree calling mode
  • Performance and behaviour in Bluetooth audio streaming mode
  • WIFI stability
  • Reverse camera and fixes several known bugs
  • Music player; can handle bigger song libraries better and playback functions will work correctly
  • Video playback; now resumes correctly and several bugs were corrected
  • Radio mode’s UI and general performance issues
  • Over UI of the unit (GPS lock signal, status bar and volume indicators)
It is important to note also that with this update, we have removed the feature where the unit can be turned on when ignition is off.

Option 1: Updating via the App Garage

  • Make sure that the AX1 is connected to your mobile device's hotspot via phone tethering
  • Launch Infogo App Garage >> Select FIRMWARE
  • Check your unit's firmware version. If your firmware is not up to date, App Garage will prompt you for an update. Click on the UPDATE button when prompted.
  • Infogo App Garage will begin the firmware update.
  • Once the firmware update is complete, there will be another prompt for users to proceed with the installation of the updates. Press YES to proceed.

Option 2: Updating via USB plug-in

User needs to prepare a USB thumb drive which has the firmware file stored in it. (Note: The file has to be located in the root directory.)

  • Insert USB or SD Card into unit
  • Go to SETTINGS
  • Under FIRMWARE >> Select UPDATE
  • There will be a pop up message to confirm. Press CONFIRM.

*Note: Please do not shut down the unit during updating process. After the update is completed, the unit will take approximately 2-3 minutes to boot up.

Once the update is completed, it is best to perform a data reset. Please follow the steps below:
  • Go to SETTINGS

To check firmware version after the update:
  • Go to SETTINGS
  • Select ABOUT
  • Check your version by choosing BUILD NUMBER - It should be shown as "Firmware v888".
